The following article was in the Vancouver Sun. Len Saunders was a long time volunteer (coach and referee) at KLM. After his son stopped playing soccer, Len and son Chris would often team up to officiate games - Len in the middle and Chris running the lines. KLM was a family affair with Dona acting as the KLM referee scheduler for a number of years. Len was also a volunteer with the Canadians and after he retired, he spent most summers with the team.

Pre-Season Team Officials Meeting |

KLM will be holding the annual pre-season Team Officials' meeting on Tuesday, September 7 at Kensington Community Centre at 6:30pm.
This will be an opportunity to get equipment and uniforms as well as discussing rules and deadlines for teams playing mini, 8-aside or division soccer.
The club is requesting that one team official from each team attend this important meeting.

Over the summer, a new section has been added to the website, the coach's resource section. In it are links to the new revised ByteSize Coaching, a set of 70 Smart Coaching plans which are ready to use and links to various helpful sites, newsletters and instructional websites. The credencials to access the site will be given out at the Coach's Meeting on September 7th.
Future enhancements will include many more prepared coaching sessions, coaching manuals, and possibly some videos on demand. |

Construction is well underway on the new Memorial Park Turf Field.
On February 8, 2010, the Park Board approved the installation of a lit synthetic turf playfield on the southwest field at Memorial South Park, as well as an upgrade to the Memorial South running track. The running track will be upgraded from the existing cinder track surface to a six lane, rubberized surfacing with low-level lighting.
