Introduction

As KLM continues to grow rapidly, sponsorship and fundraising will become increasingly more important in providing additional funding for such critical things as equipment, team apparel, extra curricular activities, events, player development and coaches development.

To utilize these tools in a sensitive, fair and equitably way for all KLM teams/members, the board of Directors has established these guidelines

These guidelines are based on the direct feedback provided by the KLM members through the questionnaire conducted this spring of 2008.

KLM is a community based soccer club, and is widely recognized for it in our community. Any sponsorship agreement or fundraising activities ought to reflect that fundamental philosophy.

Definitions

Basic Definition of Fundraising: Activities conducted either on an individual team level or on a club side level to raise funds for KLM. This can include activities such as, but not limited to, bottle runs, car washes, cookie sale, draws, auctions, etc, just to name a few examples. KLM will not issue charity receipts for fundraising efforts and no name recognition shall be provided to patrons.

Basic Definition of Donations: Funds, goods or services provided to KLM without the provision of name recognition or KLM of name recognition or KLM vices in exchange. Charity receipts can be provided by KLM for donations.

Basic Definition of Sponsorship: In exchange for funding or services provided, KLM will offer sponsors a tax receipt, name recognition and other , such as, but not limited to, KLM apparel, designated soccer camps, etc.

Guidelines for Donations

Donations may only be accepted by the KLM Treasurer and the Director of Fundraising and Sponsorship. Donations can be made for the benefit of a specific team for such activities as, but not limited to:

Extra curricular activities
Events
Tournaments

Charity Receipts for Donations may only be issued by the KLM treasurer after the donated funds/services have been received by KLM.

Guidelines for Fundraising

All fundraising events must be submitted to and approved by the KLM board of Directors prior to making any arrangements. The proposal for a fundraiser event including all details must be submitted to the KLM board of Directors in writing.

Fundraising activities may be conducted on an individual KLM team member, on a KLM team level, or on a club wide basis to provide additional funding for extracurricular activities.

KLM will NOT issue charity receipts for fundraising activities.

Guidelines for Sponsorship

Only the KLM President and the KLM Director in charge of Sponsorship may conduct negotiations on behalf of KLM with potential sponsors.

KLM members who do have sponsorship ideas or know of potential KLM sponsors are encouraged to contact the KLM President or the KLM Director in charge of Sponsorship to discuss.

KLM is a community base soccer club, run by unpaid volunteers. Any potential sponsors shall not have an adverse impact on the philosophy, culture and reputation of KLM.

The KLM board of Directors reserves the right to review and discuss any and all applications from potential sponsors.

KLM player jerseys shall remain free of any advertisements and may not be used to display the names or products of any potential sponsors.

Teams and Event Level Sponsorship packages

KLM offers four levels of event and team sponsorship packages to any qualified potential sponsor.

Event Sponsorship package:

Event Level package cost: minimum of $ 500 or equivalent value in goods or services.
Package Services included:

Event level sponsorship includes the adoption of a KLM event such as the Jamboree, photo day or the wind up.
Official Tax Receipt issued by KLM
Sponsor may promote their name/product at the adopted event.
The name of the sponsor will be promoted on the KLM website with a link to the sponsors’ website.

Team Tournament Sponsorship package:

Team Tournament Level package cost: minimum of $ 500 or equivalent value in goods or services.
Package Services included:

Event level sponsorship includes the adoption of a KLM team for particular tournament
Official Tax Receipt issued by KLM
Sponsor may promote their name/product at the adopted tournament
The name of the sponsor will be promoted on the KLM website 3 weeks prior to the tournament with a link to the sponsors’ website

Bronze Level Sponsorship package:

Bronze Level Package Cost: $ 750.00 annually.
Package Services included:

Bronze Level sponsorship includes the adopting of one of the KLM teams. The sponsor may request to adopt a specific team, however, this is subject to review and approval by the KLM board of Directors
Official Tax Receipt issued by KLM
Sponsor or sponsor’s product name will appear on KLM team jackets of all players and coaches of the adopted team.
The sponsor will receive one KLM ball cap and one KLM apparel of his choice.

Silver Team Level Sponsorship package:

Silver Level Package Cost: $ 1500.00 annually.
Package Services included:

Silver Level sponsorship includes the adopting of one of the KLM teams. The sponsor may request to adopt a specific team, however, this is subject to review and approval by the KLM board of Directors.
Official Tax Receipt issued by KLM
Sponsor or sponsor’s product name will appear on the back and front of the KLM team Track Suits of all players and coaches of the adopted team.
The sponsor will receive two KLM ball caps and two KLM apparel of his choice.
The name of the sponsor will be promoted on the KLM website with a link to the sponsors’ website.
The sponsor is entitled to a soccer day with the adopted soccer team. Sponsor soccer day may include running a practice with the children of the sponsors families, and a fun soccer scrimmage.

KLM Club Wide Sponsorship packages

KLM offers three Levels of club side packages to any qualified potential sponsor:

Bronze Level Sponsorship package:

Bronze Level Package Cost: Minimum of $5,000.00 annually.
Package Services included:

Bronze Level sponsorship includes identifying the sponsor/sponsors product as a KLM club sponsor.
Official Tax Receipt issued by KLM
The sponsor will receive three KLM ball caps and three KLM apparel of his choice.
The name of the sponsor will be promoted on the KLM website with a link to the sponsors’ website.,/
The name of the sponsor will be promoted on all KLM newsletters and communiqués.
The sponsor is entitled to a soccer day with a KLM soccer team of their choice. Sponsor soccer day may include running a practice with the children of the sponsors’ families, and a fun soccer scrimmage.
Ability to present sponsor name/product at KLM events such as the Jamboree, the windup and photo day.

Silver Level Sponsorship package:

Silver Level Package Cost: $ 25,000.00 annually.
Package Services included:

Silver Level sponsorship includes placement of the sponsors name/product name on all player and KLM coaches jackets, identifying the sponsor/sponsors product as a KLM club sponsor
Official Tax Receipt issued by KLM
The sponsor will receive five KLM ball caps and five KLM apparel of his choice.
The name of the sponsor will be promoted on the KLM website with a link to the sponsors’ website.
The name of the sponsor will be promoted on all KLM newsletters and communiqués.
The sponsor is entitled to a soccer day with a KLM soccer team of their choice. Sponsor soccer day may include running a practice with the children of the sponsors’ families, and a fun soccer scrimmage.
Ability to present sponsor name/product at KLM events such as the Jamboree, the windup and photo day.

Gold Level Sponsorship package:

Gold Level Package Cost: $ 50,000.00 annually
Package Services included:

Gold Level sponsorship includes placement of the sponsors name/product name on all player and KLM coaches jackets, training pants and game shorts, identifying the sponsor/sponsors product as a KLM club sponsor
Official Tax Receipt issued by KLM
The sponsor will receive five KLM ball caps and five KLM apparel of his choice.
The name of the sponsor will be promoted and prominently placed on the KLM website with a link to the sponsors’ website.
The name of the sponsor will be promoted on all KLM newsletters and communiqués.
The name of the sponsor/sponsors’ product will be promoted with signs set up at each KLM soccer game.
The sponsor is entitled to two soccer days with a KLM soccer team of their choice. Sponsor soccer day may include running a practice with the children of the sponsors families, and a fun soccer scrimmage.
Ability to present sponsor name/product at KLM events such as the Jamboree, the windup and photo day.
